Campus Ambassador Programs

Campus ambassador programs are one of the best things a student can put on a CV: you get paid or perked, you get early access to tools before your classmates, and you build a real network at a company you care about.

The catch is that most open once a year and close fast. This guide lists the campus ambassador programs from AI and tech companies in 2026, what each one offers, who can apply, and which ones you can still join right now.

Last checked: October 2026.

TL;DR

  • Open now: TinyFish Student Program (your path to Campus Lead), Microsoft Student Ambassadors (no application) and Microsoft Copilot Ambassadors (rolling).
  • Closed for this cycle, apply next time: Claude Campus Ambassadors, OpenAI Student Collective, Google Student Ambassadors, Cursor Campus Leads, Notion Campus Leaders and GitHub Campus Experts.
  • Best paid: Claude Campus Ambassadors ($3,600 stipend + API credits), OpenAI Student Collective (stipend each semester) and Microsoft Copilot Ambassadors (up to $1,500).
  • Easiest to start today: sign up at tinyfish.ai/students with your school email: $35 in your TinyFish wallet straight away, and a clear path to Campus Lead.

TinyFish Campus Lead (via the TinyFish Student Program)

TinyFish builds AI web agents that browse, search and act on real websites. The TinyFish Student Program is open all year and is the way in to becoming a Campus Lead.

  • Start today: sign up at tinyfish.ai/students with your school email and get $35 in your TinyFish wallet automatically.
  • Build and get paid: submit builds on TinyBounties, the dashboard for everything, and earn gift cards for approved builds.
  • Become a Student Builder: after 3 approved builds.
  • Become a Campus Lead: top builders on each campus leaderboard are invited to lead TinyFish on their campus, with an event budget for workshops and build nights.

Why it's different: you don't wait for an application window. You start building today, and the role grows from what you ship. Read more about the TinyFish Student Program.

Microsoft Student Ambassadors

Redesigned in 2026, the program now has no application or interview: you sign up, complete onboarding and start taking part. It's open to students in any discipline, not just coders. A good first ambassador role if you're early in your degree. Sign up on Microsoft Learn.

Microsoft Copilot Ambassadors

A paid, 8-week program where you bring Copilot to your campus through events, tabling and (on the Social + Events track) Instagram Reels. Ambassadors can earn up to $1,500 for around 3–5 hours a week. Open to full-time students at eligible US four-year schools, filled on a rolling basis. Check the Copilot Ambassador page.

Closed for this cycle: apply next time

Claude Campus Ambassadors (Anthropic)

One of the most competitive programs. Ambassadors get a $3,600 stipend and Anthropic API credits, across three tracks: Claude Builder Clubs (undergrads), Claude Campus Conversations (grad students) and Claude for Science (PhDs and postdocs). The 2026 window closed on 12 September. Want to build with Claude in the meantime? See 10 student use cases for TinyFish in Claude.

OpenAI Student Collective

Campus Leads work in pairs to help students use ChatGPT and Codex, with a cash stipend each semester, event funding and Codex credits. Open to undergrads in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, India, Japan and South Korea. Applications closed on 10 August 2026. Building in ChatGPT already? See student use cases for TinyFish in ChatGPT.

Google Student Ambassadors

A paid remote role for US undergraduates, leading a Gemini campus club and running events. The 2026 window closed on 5 October.

Cursor Campus Leads

Cursor flew its first cohort to San Francisco, with 6 months of Cursor Ultra, event funding and travel to a hackathon. The fall 2026 cohort has been picked. The program runs twice a year, so watch for the spring cycle at cursor.com/campus-leads.

Notion Campus Leaders

Students around the world run Notion workshops, templates and communities on campus. This year's window closed on 14 June.

GitHub Campus Experts

A well-known program with training and events for selected students. The 2026 window closed on 31 July, with a small cohort picked.

How to get picked for a campus ambassador program

  • Show you've already built something. A live project beats a cover letter. Need ideas? See 25 AI project ideas for college students.
  • Show you can bring people together. Mention any club, society or event you've run, even a small one.
  • Post publicly. A LinkedIn post about your build shows you can talk about a product, which is half the job.
  • Start with an open program. Being a TinyFish Student Builder or Microsoft Student Ambassador now makes your application stronger for the competitive ones next year.
